Client Benefit Account (CBA) Registration Page Help

Use this page to register for a Client Benefit Account (CBA).

All fields on this page must be completed.

Once completed, an email is sent to the email address associated with your SecureAccess Washington (SAW) account. Follow the instructions in the email to activate your CBA.

If you have questions or are having problems setting up your Client Benefit Account, please call the statewide Customer Service Center at 1-877-501-2233.

Important! The following data fields must be updated with the same information that your local Community Service Office (CSO) or Home and Community Service Office (HCS) has on file. Any recent letter addressed to you from the Department of Social and Health Services contains your DSHS Client ID and Name currently on file.

First Name

Enter your first name exactly as it appears on your letters.


Last Name

Enter your last name exactly as it appears on your letters. 

For example, if your name is John Doe Jr., you would enter your last name as Doe Jr.

Note: If your last name has recently changed it is important to enter the last name that is currently on file with your local office.


Date of BirthEnter your date of birth using the boxes for Month, Day and Year: MM/DD/YYYY or use the calendar icon.

For example: if your date of birth is January 1, 1975, type or select 01/01/1975


Gender

Select whether you are male or female.


Social Security Number

Enter your Social Security Number as it appears on your Social Security Card. The number will be concealed once you type in your Social Security Number. To view what you have entered, hover over the icon to see the Social Security Number.

You must have a Social Security Number to create a Client Benefit Account (CBA).


DSHS Client ID

Enter your DSHS Client ID. Note: You aren't required to enter the leading zeros before your DSHS Client ID number.

You must have a DSHS Client ID to create a Client Benefit Account (CBA). You can find your DSHS Client ID number in the top section or bottom right corner of letters sent from the Department of Social & Health Services. If you don’t know your DSHS Client ID you can call the statewide Customer Service Center at 1-877-501-2233for assistance.

Residential ZIP CodeEnter the 5 digit ZIP Code where you physically live.

Reminder: As mentioned above to complete the registration process and activate your account, follow the instructions in the email sent to the email address associated with your SecureAccess Washington (SAW) account.


Why am I receiving an error message?

You may be receiving an error message because:

  • You did not complete all fields.
  • Information you provided does not match our records.
  • You already have an active Client Benefit Account.
  • You do not have a DSHS Client ID.
  • You are not listed as the head of household for any active or pending DSHS programs, or listed as the head of household for a DSHS program that was closed or denied within the last 60 days.
  • You are in the Address Confidentiality Program.
  • You do not have a federally verified Social Security Number.
