Child or Adult Care

Child or Adult Care is an expense you pay to someone else to take care of another person who lives with you while you work or look for work.

If a state agency or someone who lives outside your home pays a care cost for someone in your home, do not count their part of the payment.

Medical Costs

Medical Costs are medical expenses for the people in your home who are blind, permanently disabled or 60 and older.

Some examples include:

  • Medical premiums.
  • Out of pocket prescription costs.
  • Medical bills not covered by insurance.
  • Medicare premiums.
  • Co-payments.
  • Deductibles or a home health aide.

Child Support

Child support is money you are legally obligated to pay for children that do not live with you. If you give money to these children but it's not legally obligated, please do not include it as an expense.

This field is for child support the adults in the home pay, NOT child support you or your children receive from someone outside your home.

Rental or Mortgage

Rental and mortgage costs are the amount you pay to live at your residence. If you are in subsidized housing, only include the amount you pay for rent.

Don't include any utility costs in this field.

Heating and cooling costs are the amount you pay for utilities that are used for either heating or cooling your residence.

Don't include any rental or mortgage costs in this field.
